COACH GERRY STANFORD’S
COMMENTS: “When the opportunities are there, you’ve got to be able to take hold of them and take advantage of it. Over the last month, we’ve played well but we haven’t made our breaks and we haven’t capitalized on opportunities. We haven’t been able to get out of our own way, at times. The kids continue playing hard. They keep battling and keep giving good effort. Good thing are going to happen, if you keep pushing and doing things right.
“Sometimes, it’s the simplest things, whether it be a turnover or a penalty that puts us behind the chains—on either side—those are the things we’ve got to eliminate to win those close ballgames.”
