Bloomburg Musical
Bloomburg’s high school and junior high will combine to present the musical “Emma: A Pop Musical JV” 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday Nov. 9-11.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students for Friday and Saturday performances and $8 and $3 for Sunday’s matinee. Children under five are free.
Concessions will be available. Tickets may be purchased from any cast member, at the school’s front office or at the door.
Methodist Trunk or Treat
If one has noticed, all the orange pumpkins in Atlanta First Methodist Church’s front yard means also that the church is preparing for its annual Trunk or Treat celebration 6- 9 p.m. Oct. 31.The big neighborly party on the church’s parking lot will feature a giant slide, bounce castle, extreme obstacle course and free cotton candy, hot dogs and popcorn.
Everyone is certainly free to put on their best Halloween costume and join the fun at 607 Holly Street in Atlanta on this Wednesday night.
Community Thanksgiving
It’s not too early to begin thinking of the community Thanksgiving being planned by CHRISTUS St. Michael Atlanta Foundation.
The Saturday, Nov. 17, event will begin with a 5K Turkey Trot run followed by a cook-off of turkey and pumpkin pie. The community feast of turkey will be complimentary to all who run, and additional tickets can be purchased for $5.

Underground Railroad Quilt program
The Pleasant Hill Quilters of Linden, Texas, will present their Underground Railroad Quilt Program 3 p.m. Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Queen City, Texas
Wearing period clothing, the group will explain the secret codes incorporated in quilts used to help slaves escape. A cappella singing is interspersed throughout the program.
The Quilters will sell their cook books and aprons with proceeds going to preserve the Pleasant Hill (Rosenwald) School Building.
Doors open 2 p.m. A light snack and beverages will be served at 2:30 and the program will start at 3.
The program is free, and the public is invited.
