Just Us Girls event tonight at Wadley

-

Wadley Regional Medical Center’s annual Just Us Girls event takes place from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the Breast Health Center. Attendees should enter at the Olive Street entrance.

“The event is designed to simply have fun with your girlfriends and get a head start on your Christmas shopping and, at the same time, help raise awareness of early detection for breast cancer,” said Shelby Brown, Wadley director of marketing.

There will be 26 vendors at the event selling unique products including jewelry, trendy clothing, home decor, homemade soaps and more.

Wadley Scan will be providing screening for women who attend the event at the discounted rate of $25. People who are interested in an appointment can call 877-792-3539 to reserve a spot.

“Our goal is to expose ladies to our mammography services and meet our staff to take away any possible anxiety or reservations they may have about getting a mammogram,” Brown said.

“Mammograms will be performed (tonight) by our qualified staff. A physician order is needed, so a lady’s personal physician can call 903-798-7693 to schedule or we will have Dr. Stacy Leonard available that night to write an order,” Brown said.

In addition to the numerous vendors, there will be hors d’oeuvres, door prizes and gifts for every lady in attendance. The Wadley Breast Center staff will also be available to answer questions or concerns.

“We will be proudly showing off our new mammography machine that is currently being installed,” Brown said. “The first of its kind in Texarkana, the Wadley Breast Center will be offering the New Clarity HD high resolution 3D Mammography exam in November.”
