Hempstead County Bicentenni­al Committee is sponsoring a time capsule as part of the county bicentenni­al. All citizens of the county may turn in one sheet of paper, available online or at the Chamber of Commerce, to be microfilme­d and placed into the capsule, with communitie­s asked to donate artifacts or items to be added. All letters and items are needed by Nov. 3. T-shirts are being sold with proceeds going towards the bicentenni­al celebratio­n, taking place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15.
