PG catches fire, stops L-E

Pleasant Grove’s Will Cullipher and Bruce Garrett propelled the Hawks over Liberty-Eylau on Senior Night with their hard-nosed running, 35-28.

Cullipher provided a spark for Hawks in the second half. He ended the night with 18 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown.

Trailing by three scores, Bladen Reaves put the Hawks on the scoreboard on his 4-yard pass from Ben Harmon.

Reaves finished the night with one catch for four yards and a score.

Harmon completed 6 of 7 passes for 79 yards and a TD. Harmon also rushed 14 times for 60 yards and a touchdown.

Cullipher continued his hard running for the Hawks. Cullipher cut into the Leopard lead with his 4-yard dive into the end zone with 2:52 left in the third quarter.

Harmon tied the game at 21-all in the fourth quarter with 9:27 left in the contest.

Scoreline PG 35, L-E 28

Marzavin Riles scored his second touchdown of the game on a 67-yard reception from Leopard QB Isaiah Cross with 9:06 left in the game.

On the following kickoff, Garrett returned the kick 80 yards to knot the score, 28-28, with 8:56 left in the contest.

Hawk wingback Garrett collected 100 yards on 23 totes and a score. Isaiah Cross led the Leopards’ ground attack. Cross scored on runs of 59 and 5 yards in the first half for L-E.

Cross amassed 100 yards rushing in the first two quarters. Cross finished the night with 14 totes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. He also completed 11 of 19 passes for 141 yards.

The Leopards forced three turnovers in the second quarter, helping L-E hold a 21-0 lead at intermissi­on.

El-Amin Greer and Ethan Brooks recovered fumbles for Liberty-Eylau. Brooks also intercepte­d a Pleasant Grove pass deep in Leopard territory.

Riles added to the Liberty-Eylau cushion in the second quarter on his 10-yard scamper. Riles finished with nine carries for 84 yards.

Deshun Dickerson led the Leopards receiving corps with four grabs for 28 yards.
