Hogs subdue Hope in Battle of Bridge

HOPE, Ark.—Cameron Collier rushed for 186 yards and three touchdowns in just the first quarter as Arkansas High dismantled Hope, 45-7, in the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana’s inaugural Battle of the Bridge on Friday at Hammonds Stadium to claim at least a share of the Conference 5A-South championsh­ip.

The Razorbacks scored all of their points in the first half and accumulate­d 445 yards of offense in their victory. Hope was limited to 236 yards.

Collier scored on two runs of 46 and had another 2-yard score on his gamehigh yardage on just six attempts. Jadas Ross, who came in for Collier after the first quarter, finished with 152 yards and and touchdown on 11 carries and had a 25-yard touchdown grab from Sean Foreback.

With mercy rule invoked, Hope’s lone score came off Hunter Hellums’ 31-yard pass to Kentraviou­s Lawson late in the fourth quarter. Hellums connected on 19 of 43 passes for 163 yards and the score.

Lawson rushed for 40 yards on seven tries and Jaloni Davis led the receiving corp with eight catches for 48 yards.

Foreback was 7-of-20 passing for 105 yards and touchdown for the Razorbacks. Ross had a team-high 55 yards receiving followed by Drake Browning’s 28 yards.

Arkansas High will be back in action next week when it rounds up its regular-season play against De Queen. With a win against the Leopards, it will be outright conference champions.
