Redwater outlasts Mustangs

REDWATER, Texas— Redwater’s junior varsity squad defeated Hughes Springs at Dragon Stadium on Thursday, 22-14.

Jonathan Ketchum scored on runs of 2 and 22 yards for the Dragons. Ketchum also scored two 2-point conversions for Redwater.

Landon McLeod caught a 17-yard pass from Ketchum for Redwater’s final score.

Easton Minter and John Collier each collected fumble recoveries for the Dragons.

L-E, PG split

Pleasant Grove’s eighth-grade squad beat Liberty-Eylau at Harris Field, 28-18.

R.J. Collins scored for the Leopards on a 12-yard run, and Marquavious Price scored on a 15-yard run for Liberty-Eylau.

Kayden Cooper caught a 26-yard pass from Jadin Hampton for the Leopards.

Tracy Revels also collected a interception for the Liberty-Eylau defense.

Liberty-Eylau’s seventh-grade team defeated Pleasant Grove, 44-40.

Ahkari Johnson scored five rushing touchdowns for the Leopards.

Johnson also threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Carlos Ford. Ford also finished with six tackles on defense.

Bulldogs throttle Ore City

QUEEN CITY, Texas—Queen City defeated Ore City in their junior varsity game, 24-6.

Darrell Ware and Kenyan Washington each scored rushing touchdowns for the Bulldogs.

Remington Gardner threw a 7-yard pass to Clay Waldron for a score and also rushed for a touchdown from 1 yard out for Queen City.
