Arkansas High

- —JASON HOPKINS

LAST WEEK: The Razorbacks received big contributions from Cameron Collier, Torie Blair and the defense as they cruised past Hope, 45-7, to claim at least a share of the Conference 5A-South championship.

THIS WEEK:

Arkansas High (8-1, 6-0) can claim the outright conference title with a win, hosts De Queen (1-8, 1-5) on Friday at Razorback Stadium.

OFFENSIVE

STANDOUTS: RB Collier rushed for 186 yards—all in the first quarter—and three touchdowns on six carries. Blair, who came in during the second quarter, added 152 yards

and a touchdown. DeJordan Mask hauled in two catches for 55 yards and a score and QB Sean Foreback finished with 105 yards on 7-of-20 passing.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS: Demetrias Charles helped Arkansas High score another defensive touchdown when he scooped up a fumble and returned it for touchdown. A.C. Williams recorded seven tackles, followed by Larry Jefferson’s five. Tre Cleveland added four tackles and forced the fumble to help Charles get into the end zone.

COACH BARRY NORTON’S COMMENTS: “(Cameron) Collier ran really well and our offensive line blocked just as well for him. I thought we had a lot of penalties after cleaning up most of that last week, so we will have to go back to work and try to improve on that again.

“It’s the little things with us right now. We have to pay attention to those little things and we should be fine going forward.

“Sean made some good plays in the passing game and that helped loosen up Hope’s defense by throwing deep early in the game. It was a good team win for us.”
