COACH STEVE WELLS’ COMMENTS:

“I thought we played an excellent first half. Isaiah Cross played exceptional for us in the first half running and throwing the ball. Marzavin and Cedric both ran the ball hard. I thought our offensive line did a great job as well. They were physical upfront. Defensively, we really got after them. We forced three turnovers and got all three of them. We had a lot of good things happen for us defensively.

“We had a chance to go up 28-0 at halftime. We got down to the 7-yard line, took a sack and had to spike it after that. That was big there. I knew it was crucial for us to get some more points on the board, and we didn’t take advantage of that opportunity.

“The difference in the second half was that we didn’t finish the drives and they did. They had the big play on special teams but that’s part of the game. Bottom line, we didn’t finish like we should. We have to do a better job of that.”
