Fun or Cruelty?

Is the sport of rodeo really animal abuse?

-

Over the years, our society has changed the way we look at activities involving animals. Circuses, for example. Animal acts were once a staple attraction but now, after years of protest, they are rare indeed.

And of course cockfighting was once legal— even up to a few years ago in a couple of states—but is now banned across the U.S.

We recently ran a feature on rodeo in this newspaper. And we received more than a few comments from those who see the sport as animal abuse. Some say it should be banned.

We want to know what you think. Is rodeo animal abuse? Should it be banned?

Last Week: Final Answer?

Last week’s question was about the mysteries that remain, such as the JFK assassination or whether UFOs are real. If you could see only one such mystery solved, what would it be?

Who murdered Daryl Crouch? Why?—B.M., Texarkana, Texas

The mystery I would liked solved is, how many people were involved in the Kennedy assassination. Was Oswald alone? Was he there at all? Was he a patsy? Who killed JFK ?—J.B., Texarkana, Ark.
