COACH GERRY STANFORD’S

COMMENTS: “We were at the end of the six weeks, so a big focus last week was grades and making sure our academics were where they needed to be. We also were able to reenergize, take a deep breath and prepare to finish up strong the last two weeks of the season.

“Situationally, you look at our district, top to bottom, and you’ve got to show up and play every week. It doesn’t matter who you’re playing. Wylie East jumped out on Sherman in the first half, and Sherman was able to come back. Mentally, we’ve got to be ready to play a good football team.

“We’ve played well, but we haven’t had good things happen. We have to be prepared to play our best football game. This is our seniors’ last home game, as well as homecoming.”
