Starling Clinic holds grand opening ceremony
The Starling Clinic, formerly Rush Family Health Care, recently held a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the clinic’s transition.
Located at 5503 N. State Line Ave., Texarkana, Texas, the clinic has been serving the community for 16 years.
“Today marks the conclusion of our transitional period and is essentially a grand opening,” said Abrar Riaz, Starling Clinic CEO.
The clinic provides a variety of services including primary care, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and physicals with a focus on family medicine, allergies, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, migraines, weight loss, food science and occupational medicine.
Dr. Waseem Imam, a board-certified internal medicine and adult and pediatric allergy and immunology physician, took the position of clinic medical director in
June of this year.
Imam focuses on chronic diseases and is also trained in obesity and weight management. He received his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. He completed his training in internal medicine at the prestigious Henry Ford Hospital located in Detroit, Mich., followed by a fellowship in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology with Larkin Allergy in Miami, Fla.
Imam’s interests include holistic health, preventative medicine, diet and exer-
cise, food intolerance and allergies, and immune system diseases.
“We’ve developed a core team and refined the programs and services we wish to provide patients,” Riaz said. “Key services we’ve added include allergy and immunology, food science and we’ve refined our weight-loss program.”
The clinic offers same-day appointments, sees walk-in patients and is a health care resource for people of all ages with private insurance and Medicare as well as self-pay patients.
“Starling Clinic’s multifaceted experience allows us to have a more holistic primary care approach where we treat the cause of the disease and not just the disease itself,” DID RIAZ OR IMAM SAY THIS?
The program is supported by a variety of primary care specialist providers who are well equipped to provide the highest level of quality care and building a long-lasting relationship with each patient,” Riaz said.
