Voters must decide fate of local contests

After record early voting turnouts, Bowie and Miller county voters who have yet to cast ballots can do so Tuesday.

In addition to big-draw midterm elections on the state and national ballots, the counties’ voters will decide several local races.

The creation of two Emergency Services Districts is on the ballot in Bowie County.

Emergency Services District No. 5 for Simms (precincts 17, 18, 19, 25/24, 27, 28 and 29) Voters to decide For or Against.

Emergency Services District No. 6 for DeKalb, Malta and Hubbard ISD areas (precincts 14, 15, 19, 20, 22/21, 25/24 and 29) For or Against.

Also in Bowie County, the following races are contested and the precincts getting to vote on the race are listed:

Early voters may cast ballots on the first floor of the courthouse 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Election Day voting in Miller County

All 13 poll locations open on Tuesday are Vote Centers. Vote Centers have all ballots for all precincts, the same as early voting. All registered voters may vote at any poll location on Election Day. All polls will open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
