Foundation doles out over $68K in grants
The Texarkana Area Community Foundation recently granted $68,843 to area agencies, organizations and programs focused on bettering the community. In addition the Andrew G. and Sarah S. Goesl Endowment awarded $11,350 in grants and two grants were given from the Anonymous fund for a total of $80, 199.
Programs receiving grants include: 1st Choice Pregnancy Center; 3 Bostons Museum; The Alzheimer’s Alliance Tri-State; Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund; Ark-Tex Council of Governments; Bowie County Child Protective Services; Bowie County Divers Team; ChallengedOutdoorsmenofAmerica; City of Texarkana; Community Alternative Prevention Program; Domestic Violence Prevention, Inc.; Girl Scouts- Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas; Habitat for Humanity; Harvest Regional Food Bank; Hospice of Texarkana; Howard County Historical Society; The Jamison’s Center of Kindness; Junior League of Texarkana; Texarkana College; The Literacy Council of Bowie and Miller Counties; Little River County Historical Society; Main Street Texarkana; New Boston Education Foundation; Pioneer Washington Restoration Foundation; Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter; Rainbow Challenges, Inc.; Runnin’ WJ Therapeutic Center, Inc.; The Salvation Army; Shreveport Opera; Shriner’s Hospital for Children; Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center; Stuffa-Bus; Telford Prison Ministries; Texarkana Area Crimestoppers; Texarkana Arts and Historic District; Texarkana Historical Society and Museum; Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council; Texarkana Resources for the Disabled; Opportunities, Inc.; Texarkana Symphony Orchestra and the United Way of Greater Texarkana.
Grants from the Andrew G. and Sarah S. Goesl Endowment were given to the Angel Fund Foundation; HandsOn Texarkana; Ozark Mission Project; Partnership for the Pathway; Texarkana Animal League; Texarkana, Arkansas Education Foundation and the Texarkana Area Community Foundation.
Two grants from the Anonymous Fund will be give to the Texarkana Public Library and the Wilbur Smith Rotary Club.
