Cheers & Jeers

-

JEERS: To the city of Texarkana, Ark., for not taking the time to go into neighborhoods and checking the roads! The holes have been filled with black top over and over again. I have a bent tire rim because I hit one of these holes that was filled with water. Our neighborhood roads are breaking up from large trucks traveling on them and forgotten maintenance by our city. What do we have to do to get attention from our city fathers to get some real road paving done in our neighborhoods?—A.A.W., Texarkana, Ark.

CHEERS: To Mary McPherson for a well researched letter published 10-2918 regarding Bruce Westerman’s voting record. If more citizens would read the Congressional Record published weekly by the Gazette when Congress is in session, they could make informed decisions about candidates rather than believing attack ads or voting along party lines. I applaud her courage in speaking up.—B.R., Ashdown, Ark.

CHEERS: I would like to thank the lady that was shopping in Big Lots store on November 2, 2018. She paid for an electric heater that I was purchasing for my elderly aunt due to the theft of one that I had previously purchased. We were just chatting in line about all the changes in the world today and how little respect that some have for others. I had no idea that she was a Godsend for my aunt and I. I truly thank you and God bless you from the bottom of my heart.—V.B., Nash, Texas
