Texas A&M Regents name facilities at local campus
COLLEGE STATION, Texas—The Texas A&M University System Regents voted to recognize the “extraordinary” contributions two individuals by naming Texarkana campus facilities in their honor.
“Having something at A&M carry your family name is perhaps one of the greatest honors any Aggie can achieve, regardless of whatever else they may have accomplished in life,” Chancellor John Sharp said. “This recognition means more than most because it reflects a lifetime lived by Aggie core values, and not just personal achievements.”
Texarkana’s Robert N. Buck was honored when Regents voted to rename the Red River Federal Credit Union Activities Game Room at Texas A&M University-Texarkana to the Robert N. Buck Game Room Given by: Red River Credit Union, upon its relocation to the Patterson Student Center. Buck, a Texas A&M-Texarkana Distinguished Alumnus recipient in 2004, was the former President and CEO of the Red River Credit Union, which donated $100,000 in 2012 to create the game room.
Texarkana resident and Texas A&M System Regent Emerita Judy Kelley Morgan was also recognized by A&M System Regents when they voted to name the soccer field at Texas A&M University-Texarkana the Morgan Soccer Field in her honor. Morgan was instrumental in creating Women for A&M-Texarkana, which has raised more than $1 million to support scholarships and new programs.
