Hope hosts bazaar and open house
HOPE, Ark.—The Southwest Arts Council will host its first annual Holiday Bazaar Thursday through Saturday.
Featuring handcrafted items and antiques, the bazaar will be held in conjunction with Hope’s “Hope for the Holidays” sales event.
The bazaar will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Located in the Arts Station at 200 E. Division St., the bazaar will showcase hand-rafted jewelry, wood items from bird houses to post office banks, rocks and bricks painted with a holiday motif, original paintings from various artists, antique bottles from the defunct Hope Bottling Company, one-of-a-kind Ukrainian-style painted egg ornaments, handcarved walking canes, holiday-themed painted pallets for outside decorating, distinctive multi-color hot pads made on a hand loom, plus many other holiday gifts and stocking stuffers.
Hope will also hold its annual Christmas Open House Celebration on Thursday.
In addition to downtown merchants being open and offering savings on holiday gifts, SWAAC will sponsor a free children’s ornament decorating event.
The activity will be set up under a tent outside the council’s Art Station headquarters. In addition to all the decorating supplies, the young artists will have refreshments and a movie for entertainment.
Additionally, a framed, watercolor painting valued at $200 will be available in a raffle ($5 per ticket or six for $20).
