Local among 3 finalists for principal of the year
Tim Lambert, principal of Texas Middle School, has been named as a top three finalist for Texas Middle School Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.
Lambert was one of 20 selected as a Regional Middle School Principal of the Year in June 2018. School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions. Nominations are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership.
Lambert became principal of Texas Middle School in June 2013.
He began his career in education in 1993 and has served as a teacher, coach and administrator within elementary and secondary schools in the area. Lambert served as principal for Hughes Springs Elementary from 2002-2005, special education director for the Cass County Cooperative from 2005-2008, principal for Daingerfield High School from 2008-2011 and principal of Atlanta High School from 2011-2013, where he was
named the TASSP Region VIII High School Principal of the Year in 2013.
He received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Stephen F. Austin State University and a master of science degree in educational administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce along with principal and superintendent certifications.
Lambert served for 10 years as a non-commissioned officer for the U.S. Air Force Reserves stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, La.

From staff and students, to parents and the general community, TMS has great things happening each and every day because of them. I’m just lucky to be part of the team.”
His final interview for the award will be held Dec. 8, with possible announcement of the state winner on Dec. 10.
As a regional winner and state finalist, Lambert will be recognized during the Jostens Night of the Stars Awards Dinner during the June 2019 TASSP Summer Conference in Austin. If selected as the state winner, he will advance to compete for the National Association of Secondary School Principals Principal of the Year Award.
