Dear Santa Claus: I want a pretty doll with hair on it, a set of dishes, cut glass. Please bring my little sister a chair and a pair of white shoes. From Mary Volvin, 303 Spruce Street

An average of six discharged soldiers a day are applying at the government office in the Forman building, for employment. It was stated yesterday they need a place for three mechanics, one teacher and two farm hands. Farm owners are proving to be the best applicants for help, and Examiner Blaine states he can place 15 families on good farms as share croppers next year, and three families are wanted at once for tenancy on truck farms near the city.

Dec. 14: MISS M. JOHNSON IS RECOVERING FROM INJURY

Miss M. Johnson, of 1733 Beech Street, who stepped in a hole at Sixteenth and County Avenue while returning from church recently and broke a leg, will be returned home from the sanitarium within the next few days.

Dec. 16: RED RIVER COUNTY COUPLE SECURE LICENSE HERE

A marriage license was issued by Fincher Eason, Miller County clerk, to Raymond L. Dellinger, 21, and Miss Daisy Sauerwine, 19, both of Red River County, Texas.
