McLeod, Atlanta go 2-0

McLEOD, Texas—Casey Smith poured in 19 points to lead McLeod to a 59-26 win over Miller Grove during the first day of the McLeod varsity boys basketball tournament.

Blake Williams, who hit four shots from 3-point land, and Trevor Deel each finished with 14 points for the Longhorns.

Williams had the hot hand as he scored a game-high 23 points in McLeod’s 72-46 over Alba Golden in an evening game. Williams’ points included five shots from beyond the arc.

Smith poured in 20 points, and teammate Deel scored 15 points for the Longhorns.

Daimon Collins put up 19 points to help power Atlanta over Avinger, 63-40.

Charlie Powell scored 14 for the Rabbits, while Keldyn Schubert had a team-high 15 points for Avinger.

Hunter Allen scorched the nets for 23 points as Atlanta rolled past Queen City, 92-43, in an evening game.

Collins scored 16 points, and teammate Powell had 11 for the

Rabbs.

Tyler Nolen scored 16 points as Queen City defeated Maud 48-31.

Colton Davis added nine points for the Bulldogs, while Rayne Bailey paced the Cardinals with a team-high 12 points.

Alex Clark paced DeKalb with 15 points, but the Bears fell to Alba Golden, 58-44.

Timon Proby contribute­d 11 points, while teammate Logan Corbett added 10 for DeKalb.

Keldyn Schubert ripped the cords for 20 points as Avinger defeated Maud, 65-45.

Bryson Schubert lit up the nets for 14 points for the Indians, while teammate Kayden Sablan added 13.

Hunter Thomas paced the Cardinals with 13 points.

Nolen paced the Bulldogs with 16 points, while Caleb Dawson scored 12.

Subvarsity North Heights splits

North Heights defeated Camden Fairview in their eighth grade girls game, 32-14

Makayla Dodd led the Lady Backs with 10 points and teammate Seaira Watson added seven points.

The Lady Cardinals edged NHJH in their seventh grade game, 18-10.

Jenna Dupree led the Lady Backs with six points.

TMS, Pine Tree swap wins

LONGVIEW, Texas—Pine Tree defeated Texas Middle School in their first eighth grade game, 55-27.

Damon Augustus led the Tigers with eight points.

TMS beat Pine Tree in the second eighth grade game of the night, 26-19.

Immanual Jones led the Tigers with 13 points.

Hawks earn 3 wins

Victor Shaw ripped the nets for 10 points for Pleasant Grove, but the Hawks were edged by North Lamar in the eighth grade A game, 40-39, at Hawk Gym.

Jonah Bates paced Pleasant Grove with 10 points, and the Hawks won the eighth grade B game, 19-17.

Jaylen Boardley poured in 17 points in a 31-17 victory for PG in the seventh grade A game.

Rip Thomas put up seven points to lead the Hawks to a 21-10 win in the seventh grade B game.

AHS tops Camden Fairview

Arkansas High’s ninth grade girls squad throttled Camden Fairview at Razorback Gym, 41-20.

Jamiya Montgomery led the Lady Backs with 14 points and teammate Keonnie Strickland added 12 points.
