Lady Hawks pummel Pirates

PITTSBURG, Texas—Delia Tuttlebee and Avery Jensen each had a hat trick for Pleasant Grove as the Lady Hawks brought the hammer down on Pittsburg, 10-0, in a varsity girls soccer match.

Jensen also had two assists for Pleasant Grove, while teammate Grace Pickelman booted in a pair of goals to go with an assist.

Lauren Hughes had two assists and a goal, Aubrey Oller had a goal and an assist, and Ashyln Garner had two assists for the Hawks.

Katie Hutcheson and Sophia Tuttlebee each had an assist for Pleasant Grove.

The Hawks host North Lamar Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Pittsburg 2, Pleasant Grove 1

PITTSBURG, Texas—Dillon Williams legged in the Hawk’s only goal in their defeat against the Pirates.

Liam Cairns made 15 saves for Pleasant Grove (2-5, 1-1).

The Hawks play at Liberty-Eylau on Tuesday.

Basketball

Texas High 84, Greenville 73

Kyle Wright kept the scorekeepe­r busy as he fired in 26 points in the Tigers’ win at the Tiger Center.

C.J. Kelley also had the hot hand as he put up 21 points for Texas High.

Cole Drumm scored 15 points for the Tigers, while teammate Matt Arnold added 14.

Texas High (26-8, 7-2) plays at Royce City on Tuesday.

Dragons romp past Brahmas

OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas— Parker Gravitt lit up the nets for 19 points as Redwater rolled to an 81-34 win over Paul Pewitt in a varsity boys basketball game on Friday.

Gabe Menah swished in 18 points for the Dragons, while teammate Mason Robertson added 15.

Kadrien Johnson and DJ Turner paced the Brahmas with 10 points apiece.

Hooks 71, Queen City 42

HOOKS, Texas—Connor Price fired in a game-high 15 points as the Hornets rolled past the Bulldogs.

Marc Reiter and Benji Johnson each added 12 for Hooks, while teammate J.J. Johnson scored 10.

The Hornets stung the Bulldogs thanks to a strong second half surge, capped off by holding the Bulldogs to four points in the fourth quarter.

The first half was fairly competitiv­e, with the Hornets turning a 15-12 first quarter lead into a 34-26 halftime lead.

EL DORADO, Ark.—Staijah Taylor scored nine points for the Lady Backs, but the Lady Wildcats went on to victory.

Jamyia Montgomery scored seven points for Arkansas High, while teammate Kiara Young added six.
