RUBY ZACHA

Ruby Zacha, age 101, passed from this life to be with Jesus on July 6, 2019.

Ruby was born in Little Rock on May 31, 1918, grew up in Hot Springs, but lived most of her life in Texarkana. She had a long career in the personnel management field, working at six different Army, Navy and Air Force installations as a position and pay specialist. She retired from Red River Army Depot, where she worked for the longest period of time.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin L. Zacha, her parents, Oscar and Bernice Outlaw, four sisters and brothers-in-law; Evelyn and Hiram Sigler, Vivian and Robert Shaw, Edith and James Clark and Virginia and Phillip Marak; two nephews, David Sigler and Robert Shaw, Jr. She is survived by two nieces, Cheryl Oliver and Linda Kathleen Sigler, one nephew, Stephen Marak, niecein-law, Carolyn Shaw, and great nieces and nephews, Amanda Pindell, Tracy Nutt, Nikolas Oliver and Brian Shaw as well as extended family and so many friends.

Ruby loved Bible study and sharing what she learned with others. She believed teaching was her spiritual gift. She began teaching children at the age of 16 and then later taught adults for a long period of time. She was a member of First Baptist Church Moores Lane, and was active in its television and radio ministry, From His Heart.

Ruby was active in AMG International, sponsoring children in Indonesia and Guatemala by providing an education and nourishment for those in need. She also sponsored a church planter in India as well as contributing to the support of their leprosy ministry and to the street children.

Ruby was a true servant of the Lord! The family will receive friends at the Atrium of FBC on Wednesday, July 10th at 10 a.m. Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. with private burial to follow.
