DONALD MORRIS HAIRE

March 1, 1948 – July 28, 2019 Donald Morris Haire, age 71, of Texarkana, TX, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 28, 2019, at Hospice of Texarkana.

Mr. Haire was born to Glenn John Sidney Haire and Wilma Lela “Bitsy” Nettles Haire in Texarkana, TX on March 1, 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerald Glenn Haire.

Committal Services will be held Wednesday July 31, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at Red Lick Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Donnie’s life in the Atrium of First Baptist Church Moores Lane at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Jeff Shreve. Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Shipp, Paul Arnold, Joe Lumpkins, Joby Lynch, Jerry Short, Hollis Rhoden, David Bain and Pat Craven.

Donnie was President of Texarkana Barber & Beauty Supply, a family owned business started by his Grandfather in 1929. You could always find him assisting customers or at his desk making “deals” on purchasing products and selling equipment. He was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church Moores Lane and the Encouragers Class.

Donnie loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 21 years, Jo Ellen Haire, step-daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and James Smallwood, and 3 grandchildren whom he loved beyond measure, Mason, Preston and Ashton. He is also survived by 3 cherished nieces and their husbands; Melanie and Jay Misenheimer; Cristia and Brian Moore; and Heather and Donnie Crittenden; great nephews Jason Misenheimer and Alex Crittenden and great nieces Brooke Moore and Catie Crittenden; a host of other family and friends he loved.

Special thanks to Bobby Shipp and Paul Arnold for their love shown to Donnie for many years, but especially during this difficult time.
