Wanda Lee Johnson, 89, of Texarkana, TX passed away August 15, 2019 . Mrs. Johnson was born February 17, 1930 in Texarkana, AR. She went to Texarkana, Arkansas public Schools; received Bachelor and Masters degrees from Texarkana Junior College, Southern State University and East Texas State University, Texarkana. She was born and raised in the College Hill United Methodist Church and later became a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church attending the Gleaners Class. Wanda was a member of the Texarkana Bowie County Retired Teachers Associatio­n, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and the Daisy Garden Club. Her favorite activities were playing Bridge with friends and flower arranging. Upon retirement, she volunteere­d as a member of Christus St. Michael Auxiliary and the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Ardel Harris; mother, Mattie Garner Harris; brother, Billy Earl Harris; spouses, Billy Charles Culberson, C. A. Shipp and William Johnson; and a very special friend, Jack Linn.

She is survived by her daughters, Chrys Capshaw and husband, Don, Mary Shipp Sipley and husband, Ken; three grandchild­ren, Kyle Capshaw and wife, Katie, Meredith Santucci and husband, Dan, and Mike Surratt and wife, Stephanie; nine great grandchild­ren, Johnny, Avery, and Luke Santucci, Harrison Capshaw, Abigail and Andrew Santucci, and Kathryn, William and Erin Surratt.

Celebratio­n of Life will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2019 at East Memorial Chapel - Moores Lane.

Memorials may be made to Heritage Hospice and Williams Memorial United Methodist Church.
