Cheers & Jeers

-

JEERS: Cal Thomas, although the best regular columnist on this page, applying Christianity to politics, deserves a jeer for his recent article — “Christian faith and the limits of American politics.” As he placed “Christians” in 3 “camps,” without including a large group of Christians. Summarizing his description of the 3, as those who believe God is only on the side of “values voting Republicans; liberal “Christians,” who focus on Scripture they can (mis)use to support their “social justice” agendas; Christians that support Trump, as “God’s choice” while “ignoring” his character flaws. A large 4th “camp” not included, (that I am in), does not “ignore” any sin, when comparing political candidates— this is why I voted for Trump over Clinton.— D.H.M., Texarkana, Ark.
