HOOKS, Texas — Davarious Clark rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns to spark Hooks to a 47-15 victory over rival New Boston in District 7-3A football action Friday night on the Hornets’ home field.

Hooks climbs to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in district while the Lions dip to 0-7, 0-3.

Clark carried the ball 24 times and scored touchdowns on runs of 20, 75 and 3 yards. He also dashed 92 yards to paydirt with a kickoff return, giving him four scores on the night.

Hooks’ other touchdowns came on Mason Vasquez 2-yard run, Miguel Herrera’s 3-yard run. Vasquez also passed 12 yards to Marquiz Estell for another touchdown.

New Boston’s touchdowns came on Kevon Thompson’s 11-yard run and Trance Graham’s 6-yard run. Thompson also ran for a 2-point conversion.

The Hornets totaled 339 yards total offense, including 266 on the ground, while the Lions had 307, with 296 coming on the ground.

Paul Pewitt 47, New Diana 21

DIANA, Texas — La-Jathan Allen’s three touchdown runs helped Paul Pewitt remain perfect on the season with their win over New Diana, 47-21.

Allen scored on runs of 4, 30 and 34 yards for the Brahmas.

Keiuntray Hawkins scored for Pewitt on a 3-yard run and also two 2-point conversion­s.

Kadrien Johnson reached paydirt for the Brahmas on a 8-yard dash to the end zone.

Cross Holder scored for Pewitt on a 1-yard dive and also a 2-point conversion. Holder also connected with Allen for a 2-point conversion pass.

Dalton Vissering booted a 32-yard field goal for the Brahmas.

Joaquin 60, Linden-Kildare 15

LINDEN, Texas — The visiting Joaquin Rams scored early and often as they blitzed the homestandi­ng Tigers in a district game.

The Rams (5-1, 2-0) erupted for 23 first-quarter points and expanded it to 47-7 by halftime over the Tigers (2-5, 1-2).

Linden-Kildare scored first on Tawin Patterson’s 85-yard kickoff return. Mason Johnson’s PAT gave the Tigers a short-lived 7-0 lead.

Joaquin’s Connor Bragg propeled the Rams’ offense with 200 yards rushing and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Teammate Gunner Nelson added 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Tigers’ final score came in the fourth quarter on LaDavion Johnson’s 5-yard run. Mason Jason then passed to Colton Anderson for the 2-point conversion.

Clarksvill­e 42, Maud 40

MAUD, Texas — Rayne Bailey’s six-touchdown performanc­e was not enough to withhold Clarksvill­e from the win column over Maud in overtime, 42-40.

Bailey scored on runs of 1, 1, 6, 1, 5 and 18 yards for the Cardinals. Bailey also added a 2-point conversion for the Cardinals (2-4, 0-1).

Tucker Sanders ended his night with a 2-point conversion for Maud.

Clarksvill­e climbs to 3-3, 1-0 with the win.
