FREDDIE AUSTIN

Freddie Austin was born on February 28, 1946 in Sevier County, Lockesburg, AR. He was the fifth child born to the late Willie and Mamie Austin. He graduated from Sevier County High School in 1965. Freddie was raised in a Christian Home and was taught the will of God at home and at church. He joined New Zion Baptist Church at any early age.

After finishing high school he moved to Los Angeles, CA. Later he joined the Army. He served six years in the U.S, Army and received an honorable discharge. While serving his country he received an National Defense Service Medal. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and attended Unity Baptist Church in Las Vegas. Freddie was called home on Tuesday, October 08, 2019 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, McDaniel Austin and sister, Willia Burris.

Freddie leaves a legacy of love that will live on in the lives of two sisters, Anna Fuller of Las Vegas, NV and Nellie Grant of Torrance, CA; six brothers, Billy Austin, James Austin and Marshall Austin all of Chicago, Ill, Sammie Austin of Jacksonvil­le, FL, Joe Austin o Texarkana, AR and Bay Edward Dedner of Stamps, AR.; one aunt, Rose Hendrix of Los Angeles, CA,; special friend, Joyce Norwood of Las Vegas, NV a host of nieces and nephew other relatives and friends.

“A Celebratio­n of Life” service for Mr. Austin will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Lyles Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Texarkana, AR with the Rev. Kelly Wilburn and Pastor Thomas Clardy officiatin­g. Burial with military rites will be in Chapelwood Memorial Garden under directions of Lyles Funeral Home, Inc.
