LONGVIEW, Texas — Spring Hill’s first-half lead was too much for Liberty-Eylau to withstand.

The Leopards fell to the Panthers, 56-7, at Panther Stadium on Friday night in a District 6-4A, Div. II game.

“We’re going to fight until the last whistle,” Liberty-Eylau head coach Klint King said. “We’re always going to coach. Everyday matters to us.”

Korbyn White caught a 37-yard bomb from Ian Jones to put the Leopards (0-6, 0-1) on the scoreboard with 48 ticks left in the game.

Malik Cooks scored on a 1-yard dive for the Panthers (3-4, 1-1) with 10:34 left in the contest.

Zach Henry caught his third touchdown of the night on a 25-yard strike from Gage White with 5:34 left in the third quarter.

Jay Rockwell caught his second touchdown of the half on a 4-yard pass from Gage White with 0:53 left in the first half.

Henry scored his second touchdown of the night on a 56-yard intercepti­on return.

Kwa’Mane Newton snatched a intercepti­on for the Leopards on Spring Hill’s following drive.

Tyler Parks snagged a intercepti­on for the Leopards defense, stopping a Panther drive in L-E territory with 10:20 left before halftime.

“Everyone is one play or one game away from having their chance,” King said. “We want all of our guys to know they’re valuable members of this program.”

On the Panthers next possession, Henry caught a 23-yard pass from Gage White for a Spring Hill score with 1:04 left in the first quarter.

Tyrese Jones caught a 32-yard strike from Gage White for Spring Hill’s third score in as many drives.

On Spring Hill’s following drive, Devaunte Powers punched in a 4-yard score for the Panthers with 7:53 left in the first.

Rockwell opened the scoring for the Panthers on a 56-yard pass from Gage White with 11:41 left in the opening quarter.

The Leopards are back in action next week, hosting crosstown foe Pleasant Grove.
