Prescott blisters Horatio, 54-7

PRESCOTT, Ark. — Prescott built a 28-0 first-quarter cushion and coasted in for the lopsided 54-7 victory over Horatio Friday night at Eddie Jackson Field.

The win by the Curley Wolves (6-2) and Camden Harmony Grove’s 42-2 victory over Fouke, set up a showdown next week for the Conference 5-3A title. Prescott and Harmony Grove (7-1) are 5-0 against league competitio­n, with the Wolves hosting next Friday’s collision.

Prescott rolled up 407 yards total offense against the Lions, with 207 coming through the air. Horatio (0-8, 0-5) was held to minus 30 yards rushing and 61 yards across the airwaves.

Jacobi Nolen passed for the first two Wolves’ touchdowns, the first a 3-yarder to Kyree Pearson, and the second a 44-yarder to Jeffrey Williams.

Williams later connected with Jaylon Hobson on a 37-yard TD pass and a 40-yarder scoring toss to OMarion Dickens.

Horatio’s touchdown came on Lane Moya’s 31-yard pass to Wyatt Marshall.

Dierks 51, Mount Ida 14

DIERKS, Ark. — Dierks rode a strong rushing attack that rolled up 407 yards and six touchdowns as the Outlaws posted a 51-14 win over the visiting Lions in District 7-2A action.

Konnor Shelton led Dierks’ assault with 137 yards on 13 carries, scoring on runs of 10 and 15 yards. He also ran for a pair of 2-point conversion­s.

Mount Ida (1-6, 1-3) was limited to 129 yards total offense, with 120 coming on the ground. Alexander returned an intercepti­on 16 yards for the Outlaws.
