Prescott routs Charleston

PRESCOTT, Ark. — Prescott quarterbac­k Jacobi Nolen passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more to lead the Curley Wolves to a 49-7 victory over Charleston in the first round of the Class 3A state playoffs Friday night at Eddie Jackson Field at Cummins Stadium.

Prescott (9-2), winners of nine straight, advances to the second round and the Wolves will host Pine Bluff Dollarway at 7 p.m. next Friday. Dollarway (6-5) beat Jessievill­e, 42-19, in its opening-round playoff.

Nolen scored a pair of firsthalf touchdowns on runs of 12 and 7 yards as the Wolves opened a 21-7 cushion at intermissi­on. The hosts shut out the Tigers 28-0 in the second half.

Nolen cranked up the aerial assault in the third and fourth quarters, passing for three scores. His first TD covered 62 yards to Jacaylon Zachary, the second 81 yards to Derriun Thompson and the last one 35 yards to Jaylon Hopson. Nolen completed 4-of-6 passes for 196 yards.

Prescott’s other touchdowns came on Alex George’s 4-yard run and Jeff Williams 53-yard intercepti­on return. George led the Wolves with 71 yards on 11 carries.

Luis Rabadan also kicked seven extra points for Prescott.

The Wolves finished with 416 yards total offense, with 220 coming on the ground. Charleston had 222. Prescott also forced two turnovers.

Charleston finishes its season at 4-7.

Dierks 34, Hackett 6

HACKETT, Ark. — Chandler Lowery’s three touchdowns paced Dierks over Hackett in their first round Class 2A state playoff game, 34-6.

Lowery finished with 83 yards on 14 carries and also added two 2-point conversion­s.

Konnor Shelton added two rushing touchdowns on runs of 50 and 15 yards. Shelton led the Outlaws ground attack with 151 yards on 19 carries.

Austin Hanson led Dierks defensivel­y with 10 stops during the contest and also added two sacks.

Eli Sharp and Austin Alexander each snagged intercepti­ons for the Outlaws.
