Fouke tramples Mineral Springs

FOUKE, Ark. — Danika Kirk had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds to power Fouke past Mineral Springs in varsity action, 68-36.

Taylor Hardin fired in a gamehigh 19 points for the Lady Panthers, while teammate MaKyla Dolls added 10. Fouke swished in 10 shots from downtown as a team.

Connie Ross scored 10 points as the Panthers won the junior high game easily, 37-2.

Logan Smith had eight points, and teammate Jacie Bishop scored six for Fouke.

Fouke (2-0) hosts Queen City today at 5:30 p.m.

Lions win 2 of 3 against Bears

NEW BOSTON, Texas — Dontae Thompson poured in 13 points for New Boston, but DeKalb won the eighth grade A boys basketball game, 30-29.

Chris Ganaway scored 10 points for the Lions.

New Boston won the eighth grade B game, 22-18, in overtime.

Jamarian Jackson paced the Lions’ seventh grade A team with six points, and New Boston posted a 16-12 victory.

McLeod, L-K split

MCLEOD, Texas — Kannon Dempsey’s 14 points led McLeod over Linden-Kildare in the junior high game, 31-21.

Jaxon Smith added 11 points for the Longhorns.

L-K defeated McLeod in the junior high girls game, 26-17.

Kenzly Cross led the Lady Longhorns with 10 points.

Pewitt, Redwater swap wins

REDWATER, Texas — Karle Latham’s 11 points paced Redwater over Paul Pewitt in the eighth grade game, 28-6.

Pewitt defeated Redwater in the seventh grade game, 24-16.

Kyndlee Clark led the Lady Dragons with eight points.

Queen City, Red Lick split

RED LICK, Texas — Jamecia Cook poured in 16 points to lift Queen City over Red Lick in the eighth grade game, 43-33.

Zoe Vanderhoof paced the Lady Mustangs with 14 points.

Addisyn Golden scored nine points in Red Lick’s 17-11 victory in the seventh grade game.

Laterika Jackson had the hot hand for the Lady Bulldogs with eight points.

Logan Chamblee fired in 14 points to lead Queen City to a 32-27 win in the boys eighth grade A game. Wesley Bradford paced the Mustangs with eight points.

Lathan Chamblee scored eight points as the Bulldogs won the eighth grade B game, 18-8. Lane Smith had five points for Red Lick.

Brayden Wiley and Messiah Grundy each scored eight points, and Queen City earned a 29-17 victory in the seventh grade A contest. Tanner James scored five points for the Mustangs.

Kyle Burkett had a game-high five points, and Red Lick won the seventh grade B game, 9-4. Edward Langston scored four points for the Bulldogs.

Atlanta earns 3 wins over Hooks

HOOKS, Texas — Morgan Creer paced Hooks with nine points, and the Lady Hornets won the eighth grade A contest over Atlanta, 39-26.

Kinsley Birdwell contribute­d eight points for Hooks.

Cha’nya Clark fired in 14 points to lead the Lady Rabbs’ eighth grade B team to a 22-0 win.

Atlanta won the seventh grade A game, 21-8. Zoey Greenwood had five points for the Hornets.

Princess Peters scored 10 points for the Lady Rabbs in a 20-0 victory in the seventh grade B contest.

Lady Pirates cruise past Maud

SIMMS, Texas — Catelin Brule scored 10 game-high points as James Bowie earned a 22-6 win in the eighth grade girls game over Maud.

Bayla White had four points for the Lady Cardinals.

Hawks’ JV come up a bit short

TEXARKANA, Texas — Pleasant Grove’s junior varsity played under the lights and fell to Sulphur Springs, 13-8.

“With 10 freshman in the lineup, this was a great match for us against a veteran team,” Hawks head coach Erik Pickett said.
