CAROLYN HUGHES

Carolyn Ann Hughes, 71, of Texarkana, TX died November 25, 2019, at her residence.

She was born February 16, 1948, to Richard and Teennie Evelyn Allen Glasgow in Texarkana, TX. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved to play bridge and played with The Bridgettes for 30 plus years, which included Freddie Johns, Sandy Pate, Joyce Adams, and Sandra Tipton. They were best friends for life!

She loved her family dearly and was so incredibly proud of them. She was a faithful and devoted wife of 53 years, a wonderful and nurturing mother and a fun loving Mimommy to her grandchildren. Her face lit up when they entered the room.

She didn’t let the cancer decide her future. She knew where she was spending eternity so she was thankful for everyday she was blessed with. She walked through this journey with so much faith, dignity and grace.

She was a beautiful person - inside and out. She had a heart of gold and was truly a blessing to everyone who knew her. She will be missed dearly.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by her husband, David Hughes of Texarkana, TX; son, Kevin Dell Hughes of Texarkana, TX; daughter, Marcy Ann Colorigh of Texarkana, TX; six grandchildren; Christian Colorigh, Brittney Ann Colorigh, Sarah Langdon, Lauren Hughes, Karson Hughes, and Kanon Hughes; and one nephew, Jason Hughes of Livingston, TX.

Funeral services will be 10 AM, Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas with Bro. Wallace Edgar officiating.
