ROSE SANDERSON
Rose Anne Sanderson, 92, of Texarkana died on Sunday, December 1, 2019, in a local hospital. She was born October 24, 1927, in Ada, OK, to Leon and Jeanelle Burns Kuhn. She was a life-long member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Silver Circle and was a former Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Sanderson has served in many capacities as a community volunteer, including past Presidents of TRAHC, the Junior League, and the Texarkana, Arkansas School Board. She was a former Girl Scout leader, and volunteered her time with Friends of the Library. She was a past recipient of the C.E. Palmer Award.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Alex Sanderson, Jr.
Mrs. Sanderson leaves behind two sons, Leon Sanderson and wife, Julie, and Robert Sanderson and wife, Carla; one daughter, Anne Formby and husband, Millard; a step-son, Alex Sanderson, III and wife, Carol Ann; six grandchildren, Alex Sanderson, IV, Kirk Sanderson and wife, Jennifer, Paige Wright and husband, Bradley, Hunter Sanderson and fiance’, Cameron Taylor, Kaitlin Sanderson, and Elizabeth Formby; and a number of great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas, with visitation following.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with the Rev. James West officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward’s Catholic Church Building Fund, or to a charity of your choice.
