Josephine (Josie) Davis Walker was born August 27, 1939 to the late Fern Davis and Lillie Mae

Brown Davis in Mandeville, Arkansas.

Josie (as she preferred to be called) departed this earthly life to glory at age 80 on January 8, 2020 at Wadley Hospital after longterm illness.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Deacon James Newton Walker; son Tony Earl Davis; sisters Minnie L. Bruce, Ethel F. Owens; five great-grandchild­ren.

Josie is survived by three sons: Rev. Chaurcey Boyd, Texarkana, AR, Eric Davis (Sheila), Texarkana, AR, Ricky Davis, Texarkana, TX; three daughters: Pamela Crisp (Gonzollis), Texarkana, AR; Vanessa Rhodes (Jeffery), Texarkana AR, Shalonda Davis (LaSharat), Houston, TX; two sisters: Estella Jones,

Texarkana, AR; Melba Marie Taylor, Texarkana, AR; twelve grandsons: Earnest Davis, Michael Davis, Ricky Davis Jr., Reginald Davis, Brian Davis, James Davis, Jawonzski Davis, Richard Davis, Marquin Burns, Jaquonta Rhodes, Pherquan White, Isaiah White; three granddaugh­ters: Tamecia Davis, LaStarya Boyd, Sacoyia Davis; 32 great-grandchild­ren; two great-great grandchild­ren; many nieces/nephews; other family members/friends.

Josie fully committed to Jesus Christ at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church where she remained faithful until her health declined. Josie served as/in Mission/ Deaconess President; Head Announceme­nt/Publicity Clerk; NBC, Vacation Bible School, Pastor Aide, Ozan District; Mandeville’s Area Fellowship, Community Action Council, School/Community Reunion, and Cemetery Associatio­n, etc. Josie organized the church School Supply, Clothes Give Away, and Food Pantry.

Places of employment include the Townhouse, Cattlemen Steakhouse, Oliver’s Twist, Toyboat, and TLC Burger and Fries. Her duties included cooking, operating the register, and caring for children. Service is 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 18, 2020, Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church; Rev. Christophe­r Collins, Sr., Officiatin­g/Eulogist, under direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary. Interment is Memorial Gardens. Visitation is at the church 5:00 — 7:00 PM, Friday, January 17th.
