Gerald Lynn Sturdevant, age 68, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 31, 2020 surrounded by his family.

M r . Sturdevant was born June 13, 1951 in Windyville, Missouri. He was retired from Center Pont Energy, and worked for the Miller County Sheriff Department and Christus St. Michael Health System. He enjoyed spending time on the lake, bass fishing with his four sons and grandchild­ren, giving them pointers on how to catch the big one. He was also a member of Highland Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, Edson Sturdevant, and one daughterin-law, Rachel Sturdevant.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Carolyn Sturdevant of Texarkana, Arkansas; his mother, Doris Sturdevant of Texarkana, Arkansas; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Michael and Patty Sturdevant of Texarkana, Arkansas; Jon Sturdevant of Bryant, Arkansas, Josh and Summer Sturdevant of Texarkana, Arkansas; James and Dee Dee Sturdevant of Alexander, Arkansas; three sisters, Dianna Howell of Dennison, Texas; Linda Wilson of Texarkana, Arkansas; Tammy Morris of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; eight grandchild­ren, Patricia Sturdevant, Jessica Bunch, Carolyn Gauldin, David Sturdevant, Sunnilin Eaton, Kaylin Sturdevant, Blake Sturdevant and Becca Sturdevant, four great grandchild­ren, Bentley Gauldin, Easton Gauldin, Oaklynn Gauldin and McKenna Smart and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A. M. Tuesday at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas with Chris Hooten officiatin­g. Burial will be in Rocky Mound Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M.
