Hospice fall fundraiser announced
Hospice of Texarkana will host its 11th annual “Jeans & Bling 2.0” fundraising event at 7 p.m., Oct. 3 at the Texarkana Convention Center. Hospice of Texarkana will use the proceeds to pay-down the note of the Hospice Care Center, a $5.5 million facility that opened four years ago.
Because many spring fundraisers are being moved to later in the year because of COVID-19 restrictions, the agency felt it was important to formally announce the date.
“We have always been a fall event and set the Oct. 3 date and announced it on social media, in late January,” Development and Public Relations Director Stefanie Brazile said.
This year’s Jeans & Bling 2.0 will be a revved-up, enhanced version of the event. It will feature live music, the popular “Sing at the Bling Lip Sync Battle,” a Texas Style Barbecue buffet, raffles, a silent auction and more as the committee develops the event. Tickets will be sold online beginning in August at HospiceofTexarkana.org and at the agency’s two offices in Greater Texarkana.
” Any individual or business is invited to be a sponsor,” Brazile said.
Hospice of Texarkana is celebrating 35 years of nonprofit service to seriously ill people and their families. Staff members travel to the homes and facility homes of patients who live within 50-miles of Texarkana in both Arkansas and Texas. They operate the only freestanding Hospice Care Center within 75-miles.
