Did you know that April is National Volunteer Month? It is the perfect time of year to show appreciation to the volunteers in the community and to consider volunteering yourself. Check out these volunteers and how they make a difference in the lives of others.

“I want to make a difference in my community to enhance the quality of life of people in
my community.” Volunteers for Volunteer in Public School for Texarkana School District, Dunbar Elementary, Theron Jones Granny Pack, Encompass Health Hospice,
Women of A&M, Naomi’s Circle at Macedonia Church, serves Thanksgiving dinner at Randy Sams Shelter, hand sanitizer packs to Friendship Center, Rosehill Neighborhood Improvement Association, St. Michael’s Advisory Board, and a
local stroke support group.

“Volunteering for the Special Olympics Fundraiser is my most favorite volunteer work that I do. The annual event is in January and I have been involved for seven years. All the athletes show up to play darts and the room is so full of love!! I leave every year in awe of the money raised and of the
relationships built.”
Volunteered for 15 plus years for organizations/events including Dinner
at Salvation Army, Girl Scouts of America, VIPS board for TISD, and
Bowie County Special Olympics.
