JAMES ALLEN GARNER

James Allen Garner, age 91, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Monday, April 6, 2020, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Garner was born November 27, 1928 in Dallas County, Arkansas and had lived in Texarkana for most of his life. He was a member of Christ Methodist Church and was retired Co-Owner of Garner Cleaners. He was also a veteran of the Arkansas Army National Guard. He was instrumental in helping the College Hill United Methodist Church to follow God’s plan in the construction of the Christ Methodist Church. Bro. James was a kind, sweet, gentleman who loved the Lord with all his heart and soul. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Faye Garner.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gary Cross of Fouke, Arkansas, one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sandy Garner of Texarkana, Arkansas, four grandchildren, Stephen and his wife Valarie Cross of Texarkana, Arkansas, Shelley and her husband John Knight of Fouke, Arkansas, Nancy and her husband Vic Grant of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Scott Garner of Texarkana, Arkansas, six great-grandchildren, Gunner and Delaney Brown, Bailee and Kyelso Knight and Addison and Alivia Grant, a host of friends and other relatives.

A small PRIVATE family Graveside Service will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday with Rev. David Kassos and Vic Grant officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.

Those wishing to view Mr. Garner may visit the funeral home between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday or Thursday from 8:00 A. M. to 9:00 A. M.
