Emergency food distribution will include area counties
Central Arkansas Development Council will hold an emergency food distribution in its 19-county service area during the month of May.
The service area includes several Southwest Arkansas counties. CADC will distribute 10,000 food boxes that contain more than 50 pounds of food, including meat, beans, vegetables, and fruit. These boxes will also include essential household items such as toilet paper, according to a press release.
Central Arkansas Development Council hopes to alleviate some of the uncertainties many in the community are facing. Customers will be asked to show identification and will be limited to one box per family. Families will have to meet income eligibility guidelines to qualify.
Distributions will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or while supplies last.
