James Lynn Ware, age 83, of Ashdown, Arkansas, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. He was born on November 15, 1936, in Rosston, Arkansas, and was a graduate of Bradley High School. He retired from SWEPCO after forty years of service in Dierks, Arkansas, as the Area Manager. He also worked in the Texarkana, Texas Service Department for SWEPCO. In his younger years, he traveled to Colorado and Utah on numerous elk hunting trips. He was also known to turkey hunt and was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Price Ware; his parents, Jesse and Inez Ware; his brother, Otis Ware; three sisters, Helen Franks, Pansy West, and Marjorie East.

Survivors include his two sons and one daughter-nlaw, Fred and Leslie Ware of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Jimmy Ware of Nash, Texas; his grandchild­ren, Derin Deaton of Wake Village, Texas, and Erika Deaton of Texarkana, Arkansas; a great grandchild Khloe Deaton of Greenbrier, Arkansas; one brother, Bobby Ware; three sisters, Peggy Kite, Pat Lavender and Joan Bobo all of Ashdown, Arkansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Villa and Heritage Hospice for the excellent care that James received during his illness.

Private graveside services will be Friday, May 15, 2020 at Memorial Gardens with Rev. Wallace Edgar officiatin­g. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.

Mr. Ware will lie in state at the Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas, from 8:00 A. M. until 7:30 P. M. on Thursday.
