JOHN MARSHALL
John Marshall, 76, of Texarkana, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
John was born March 30, 1944 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Dave Marshall and Alice Mitchell. He was a member of the Nash Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Nash, Texas. John was baptized in 1968. John graduated from Washington High School. He retired from GTE/Valor/ Windstream after 43 years of service. He was also owner of Mr. J’s Bar-B-Que in the Mt. Olive community.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Benny Mitchell, Betty Nash, Willie Mae Wilis and Dorothy Guidry; and one son, Charles Banks.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 56 years, Wanda Marshall; a legacy of sons, Keith Marshall, John Marshall, Jr., Shion Marshall, Tracy Lewis, Derrick Threadgill, Terrence (Brittany) Marshall; one daughter, Andrea (Reginald) Atkins; grandchildren, Garry Williams, Jr., Kionna Threadgill, Alex Lewis, Dillion Lewis, Brandon Lewis, Alyvia Marshall, Shuntia Marshall and Kingston Marshall; his best friend, Mr. Ted Turner; a special neighbor, Mr. Donnie Meals; his nephew who assisted in his care, Donald Ray Williams; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing for Mr. John Marshall will be Friday, May 29, 2020 from 5-7 PM at Haynes Mortuary. Graveside services will be 12 Noon Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. Online registration available at www. haynesmortuary.com.
