Harold Dean Smith, 73, of Broken Bow, passed from this life June 4, 2020 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. Harold was born April 5, 1947 to Mynard C. Taylor and Lillie Mae (Shaw) Smith. Harold had lived in McCurtain County for the last 31 years coming from Texarkana, AR. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling and smoking meats. Harold enjoyed his garden and hanging out with his grandchild­ren. He was also known for his German chocolate cakes.

Harold graduated from Arkansas High and enjoyed playing football while attending school. He was drafted into the Army after high school and proudly served our country during the Vietnam Era from 1966-1969. Harold then went on to work for the Red River Army Depot with 27 years of employment. After retirement from the Army Depot, he continued working in constructi­on.

Harold married the love of his life, Alice Faye Cunningham in Clarksvill­e, TX, on February 18, 1972.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Mynard C. Taylor; mother, Lillie Mae (Shaw) Smith; and, his dad, Julious Smith.

Harold leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Alice Faye Smith, of the home; children, David Smith, and wife, Danielle, of Idabel, Stacy Simpkins, and husband, Mark, of Broken Bow, Gwendolyn Munson, of Broken Bow, and Stephanie Smith, of Golden; brothers, Wayne Smith, and wife, Brenda, of Texarkana, AR, and Lynn Smith, of Texarkana, AR; six grandchild­ren, Hunter Bray, Cydnee Bray, Bryce Simpkins, Tyler Smith, Carson Simpkins, and Logan Smith; great-grandchild­ren, Whitten Benson and Emma Simpkins; many nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and special cousins, including James Green, of Broken Bow, and Barbara Ray, also of Broken Bow.

A Celebratio­n of Life Service will be Thursday, June 11, 2020, at 1:00PM at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10, 2020, from 6:008:00PM, also at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.
