Letter to the Editor Minimum wage

-

TO THE EDITOR:

Are you a person who can think things through and use reason to uncover the truth? Most people think they do but the overwhelming evidence is that they simply are not. Example: Approximately 70% of our citizens think that increasing the minimum wage would be a good thing to help the poor working people by “giving them a living wage.” But, if you look at the facts honestly, you will find that the mantra for raising the minimum wage is nothing more than a dishonest political ploy used by dishonest politicians to deceive the average citizen and win votes from the uninformed.

Here is proof positive that raising the minimum wage is nothing more than a dishonest political ploy to get votes from the uninformed voter. In the past 80 years the minimum wage has been raised from 30 cents an hour in 1940 to $7.25 an hour (about a 2,400% increase) in 2008 so everyone can at least “make a living wage.” One of the definitions of stupidity is doing the same failed policy over and over again and expecting a different result. And yet many deceitful yet masterful politicians are using this dishonest ploy to get votes.

Maybe, if you are one of the 70% that has been being deceived by these types of dishonest political ploys, you should either start educating yourself about the issues or not vote. Seriously, is it better to be an uninformed, low information voter who not only makes a mess for themselves but for everyone else or don’t vote and let those who do study and ferret out the truth do the voting? Almost everyone has the ability to drive a car, but not everyone can drive a car safely. Every adult has a right to vote but maybe not everyone should exercise that right. The uninformed can make a difference and when they do, it ain’t good. Example: Venezuela and if you don’t know why, you are most likely exactly who I am talking about.
