Man wanted for burglary of habitation at ex-girlfriend’s home

-

TEXARKANA, Texas — Local police have a felony warrant for Vonderic Nard. Nard is wanted for burglary of a habitation to commit assault and violating the conditions of his probation.

He had allegedly broken into his estranged girlfriend’s home, shooting her vehicle with her inside it and destroying her belongings, according to the Texarkana, Texas, Police Department.

He was arrested in May on several felony charges and was released on bond on June 26.

At 2:00 a.m. Thursday, the ex-girlfriend woke up to find Nard allegedly standing over her bed with a gun in his hand. He wanted to know where her new boyfriend was. When he realized that no one was there but her, he grabbed her and carried her to the front door before throwing her to the ground and running away. He’d apparently managed to get into her house through a boarded-up window that he’d busted out during one of the other times he’d broken in, according to police.

One of the conditions that the judge set for him to be released two weeks ago was that he had to wear an ankle monitor. After Thursday’s incident, it appears that Nard may have cut it off so he could not be found. That resulted in his bond on the previous charges being revoked by his probation officer and a warrant being issued for violating probation.

Police are concerned about Nard hurting someone. If anyone knows where Nard can be found, they should call TTPD at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
