College Hill teacher recognized by state
Todd Musgraves, a fourthgrade teacher at College Hill Elementary School in the Texarkana Arkansas School District, was named as one of 12 regional educators by the state’s Department of Education.
“I am honored to be recognized alongside other top educators in the state,” Musgraves said. “I am proud to represent the Texarkana Arkansas School District and our region.”
Musgraves joined the TASD Razorback family in 2009.
He has served as a fourthgrade teacher at Fairview Elementary, Kilpatrick Elementary and College Hill Elementary schools.
“Mr. Musgraves believes that every student can succeed and even surpass their own as well as other’s expectations. His teaching goal is to get his students to believe they can accomplish whatever they want — to be whatever they want to be in life,” said TASD Superintendent Dr. Becky Kesler. “Mr. Musgraves represents the kind of skill, passion and commitment that exemplify the most demanding and rewarding profession there is: teaching,”
The 12 regional finalists will attend a special recognition ceremony with Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Friday, July 31. During the event, four regional finalists will be announced as the state semi-finalists.
Musgraves completed his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville and his Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction at Texas A&M UniversityTexarkana.
“I want to congratulate the regional finalists for their outstanding work and dedication to their students, schools, and communities,” Arkansas Department of Education Secretary Johnny Key said. “While one of them will become the next Arkansas Teacher of the Year, all of them have exhibited determination, commitment and a passion for education and are deserving of this honor.”
