Mr. William James Edmond, 69, of Texarkana, AR died Wednesday, July 8, 2020 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital.

M r . Edmond was born April 27, 1951 to the late William Joseph Davis and Georgia Mae Edmond in Hammond, LA. He later moved to New Orleans, LA where he married Debbie Edmond and remained a devoted husband for thirty years. He worked as a warehouse truck driver for many years and retired in 2013. They relocated to Aurora Colorado after Hurricane Katrina and later moved to Texarkana, AR in 2014 where he became a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under leadership of Pastor Frederick Webb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Vertie C. Lloyd, Willie Lee Kinsey and Idella Bullock Jones and two brothers, Bishop Turner and Leroy Edmond.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Debbie Edmond, Two sons, William James Edmond II and Micheal Thibodeaux; Three daughters, Nekia Edmond Robertson, Michelle (Dewayne) Harris and LaShonda (Domon) Gibson; One brother, Earnest Thomas; one sister, Charlene Edmond; fourteen grandchild­ren, four great-grandchild­ren and number of other relatives.

Mr. Edmond will lie-in-state 10:30-11:00 a.m. Thursday, at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.

A homegoing celebratio­n for Mr. Edmond will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 620 East Street, Texarkana, AR with Pastor Frederick Webb officiatin­g. Local arrangemen­ts under direction of Lyles Funeral Home, Inc.

Graveside services and Interment will be Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Holy Gardens Cemetery, Hammond, LA.

Due to health reasons, masks are required to be worn to attend the service.
