Clyde Royce Roberts of De Kalb, Texas passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. He was 86.

Clyde was born June 21, 1934, in a covered wagon in Durant, Oklahoma, to James Eddie and Mary Estelle Campbell Roberts. On April 4, 1959, he was married to Rosie Love in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, where he worked in Civil Service Quality Assurance for over 41 years and was a member of County Line Holiness Church in De Kalb, Texas. Clyde was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Robert Edward Johnson; a great grandson, Crew Payne; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosie Roberts of De Kalb, Texas; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Rhonda Lummus of Arp, Texas, Sharon Payne and Paul Hazelwood of De Kalb, Texas, Cindy and Robert Johnson of De Kalb, Texas and Anita and Mark Vaughan of Garfield, Arkansas; a son, Royce Roberts of De Kalb, Texas; a brother, James Roberts of De Kalb, Texas; grandchildren, LaTisha and Cody Johnson, Virginia and Shawn Beard, Reba Lummus, Steven Payne, Michal and Simeon Royal, Abigail Johnson, Samuel Johnson and Hannah Vaughan; great grandchildren, Ayda Payne and Jackson Royal; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 21, 2020 outdoors at County Line Holiness Church in De Kalb, Texas with Bro. Mike Maxon, Jr. and Mark Vaughan officiating.

Mr. Roberts will lie in state Monday, July 20, 2020 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas. Family will be present from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
