NANCY GRIFFIN

Nancy Catherine Griffin, age 88, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, July 25, 2020, at her daughter’s residence.

Mrs. Griffin was born October 24, 1931, in Chillicothe, Ohio to Fletcher and Betty Griesheimer. Nancy was an incredible seamstress and enjoyed her time as a volunteer at Wadley hospital. She was very intelligent and was her husband, Richard’s “right hand man”. She finally made it on the Highway to Heaven to meet him and her daughters there for a glorious reunion.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard F. Griffin, two daughters, Barbara Hernandez and Janice Hungerford and one brother, Fletcher Griesheimer, Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Anne Torn and husband Paul, of Austin, Texas and Dr. Nancy Griffin Graham and husband Dr. John Graham of Texarkana; son-in-law, Jim Hungerford of Ozan, Arkansas; sister, Julia Woodring of Seattle, Washington; twelve grandchildren, David Hungerford, Susan Dyer, Aaron Hungerford, Paul Torn, Krissy Torn, Jennifer Torn, Dr. Amy Russell, Amanda Cowan, Michael Graham, Nicole Hernandez, Simon Hernandez, and Lucinda Hernandez and many great-grandchildren and other relatives.

The family would like to thank Melinda Johnson and the staff of Hospice of Texarkana for the excellent care given to Nancy. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Texarkana, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6:008:00 PM Monday at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
