JEANETTE GRAY
Jeanette Goodson Gray, born April 14, 1934, to Corinne and Arthur Goodson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 1, 2020.
Jean was married in 1948 to Tom L. Gray and, by 1958, had given birth to five children and gained experience in retail sales and bookkeeping while Tom was learning his craft in jewelry manufacturing in Fort Worth, TX. By the early sixties, she and Tom had a goal of moving their family back to their childhood home of Texarkana and starting a jewelry repair business. In 1965, Gray’s Manufacturing Jewelers was established in the Texarkana National Bank building in downtown Texarkana.
In the mid 70’s, Jean decided another career change was in order, and she purchased Viva’s Flowers, where she completed her professional life. Although she was a true career woman, she was also a good home cook. Tom was an avid outdoorsman and, if he brought it home, she could cook it! Her daughters are a testament that is evidenced by the spreads they put on at family gatherings! She was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church where she played the piano and organ when able. Jeanette was a strong, courageous, determined, and loving woman who will be greatly missed!
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Corinne and James Arthur Goodson, Sr.; husband, Tom L. Gray; and daughter, Cynthia Diane Gray. She is survived by her brother, James Arthur Goodson, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Remica and Danny Gray; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dave Latch; daughter and son-in-law, Chery and David Birchfield; and daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Mike Adcock; ten grandchildren: Lauren Black (David), Alan Gray (Ginger), Robert Sean Bradley (Raney), Shannon Leigh Bradley, Adam Birchfield (Hannah), Taylar Birchfield, Jennifer Cigainero (Pat), Luke Adcock (Nikki), Jacob Adcock, and Missy Swint Chancellor; and fifteen great grandchildren: Emily Black, Ryan Black, Cale Gray, Carson Gray, Brennan Bradley, Jax Bradley, Tripp Bradley, Westin Henry Birchfield, Lexy Cigainero, Kelly Cigainero, Carly Cigainero, Preston Adcock, Avery Adcock, Tommy Chancellor, and Tyler Chancellor.

The service will be held at the same location on Wednesday, August 5, at 10:00am with Buddy Hamner and Bro. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery under direction of Texarkana Arkansas Funeral Home.
