Juanita Irene Grider Shelton, age 100, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

S h e was born December 15, 1919 in Bowie County, Texas to Hiram B., Sr. and Elsie Irene Brewer Grider. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ernest E. Shelton, Sr.; her parents; three sisters, Ella Geneva Grider, Frances Perry and Ruth Otwell; two brothers, Thomas Lawson Grider and Hiram B. Grider, Jr.

Juanita is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest E., Jr. and Mary (Meg) Shelton, Dan and Kay Shelton; one daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and James Williams; 9 grandchild­ren and their spouses, Beth and Steven Wicker, Marie and Lindsey Freeman, Kimberly and Kevin Ball, Cheryl and Jon Schwiethal­e, Wendy and Bill Preston, Shawn and Melani Shelton, Darren and Casey Williams, Darla and Billy Black and Brett and Kristen Shelton; twenty-two great-grandchild­ren, Whitley Ellison, Tiffany Rogers, Karly Wicker, Tyler Hooten, Riley Hooten, Shane Sibley, Kail Ellison, Bailey Taylor, Corey Hooten, JD Schwiethal­e, Wil Hooten, Cooper Williams, Taylor Black, Trevor Schwiethal­e, Avery Williams, Maggie Taylor, Morgan Black, Parker Williams, Carson Schwiethal­e, Newt Taylor, Braley Shelton and Piper Black; two sisters, Elna Grider and Clara Morden; three brothers, Don and Ruthie Grider, Doyle Grider and Boyce and Melba Grider and numerous nieces and nephews.

Juanita owned and operated Shelton Feed & Fertilizer from 1967 until her retirement. She was an ardent quilter and genealogis­t.

She was a faithful member of New Boston Church of Christ until her death.

Funeral services will be Sunday, 2 p.m., September 6, 2020 at the New Boston Church of Christ with Kevin Cauley officiatin­g. Visitation is from 1 pm - 2 pm. Burial in Pulaski Cemetery, New Boston.
